Fall plans can be pretty simple: grab cider, find a good donut, and let the kids burn some energy outside.

We asked local Facebook groups around Holland, Fennville, Grand Haven, and Muskegon where they would go for cider this fall. Five names came back: Crane’s, Farmhaus, Overhiser, Jollay, and Robinette’s.

This guide brings together local recommendations and practical visit details checked against the businesses’ websites, so you can find a fall outing that fits your plans.

Five cider and orchard stops to put on your fall list

Crane Orchards + Crane’s Pie Pantry — Fennville

Why it made the guide: Crane’s was the most repeated name across the discussions. Readers called it a classic and highlighted the mix of apple picking, fall activities, and treats nearby.

What you’ll find: Crane Orchards offers seasonal apple picking, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, and weekend hayrides and a cow train, weather permitting. Next door, Crane’s Pie Pantry has apple cider donuts, Michigan fruit pies, a restaurant, and wine and hard cider options.

Locations:
Crane Orchards is at 6080 124th Avenue, Fennville, MI 49408.
Crane’s Pie Pantry is at 6054 124th Avenue, Fennville, MI 49408.

Good to know: The orchard and Pie Pantry are separately owned businesses. The orchard charges for picked fruit by the pound, with no u-pick entrance fee; activities have separate charges. Check its homepage before leaving for weather closures and picking updates.

Farmhaus Farms — Grand Rapids

Why it made the guide: Farmhaus appeared in the community recommendations, with a helpful distinction: the orchard and bakery location offers a different experience from the Hudsonville cidery.

What you’ll find: Farmhaus Farms combines a farm market and bakery with seasonal apple picking. Its fall offerings include a corn maze, horse-drawn hayrides, pumpkins, donuts, muffins, cookies, and warm cider. Hard cider is also available for the grown-ups.

Location: 9265 Kenowa Avenue SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.

Good to know: Choose the Kenowa Avenue farm for the orchard-and-bakery outing. The separate Farmhaus Cider Co. taproom is at 5025 Stanton Street, Hudsonville, MI 49426, with hard cider and rotating food trucks. Check the farm’s fall page for hayride dates and tickets, and the cidery’s calendar for food truck availability.

Overhiser Orchards — South Haven

Why it made the guide: Overhiser was recommended as another lakeshore-area option for a day with apples, cider, and farm activities.

What you’ll find: Seasonal u-pick fruit, a farm market, and a bakery with handmade pies, cookies, and glazed donuts. Fall updates list cider, cider slushies, pumpkins, a corn maze, wagon rides, and an animal barn where visitors can pet and feed farm animals.

Location: 6405 109th Avenue, South Haven, MI 49090.

Good to know: The farm offers different passes for orchard activities and the Barnyard play area. Check current farm updates for fruit availability and which attractions your pass includes before you buy.

Jollay Orchards — Coloma

Why it made the guide: Jollay was recommended for its cider in the Grand Haven-area discussion. It takes you farther south, so consider it a fall day trip.

What you’ll find: Jollay’s farm market offers fresh apple cider, apple cinnamon donuts, caramel apples, and seasonal produce. Its fall lineup includes apple and grape picking, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and a haunted house.

Location: 1850 Friday Road, Coloma, MI 49038.

Good to know: You can visit the farm market without an admission charge. Picking and activities follow a separate admission structure, and picked fruit may cost extra depending on the package. Check the fall admission page to choose the visit that fits your plans.

Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery — Grand Rapids

Why it made the guide: Robinette’s was another reader pick, adding a Grand Rapids option with a bakery, cider mill, and plenty of seasonal activities.

What you’ll find: The Apple Haus brings together donuts, a bakery, a dining area, and a cider mill. Seasonal attractions include apple picking, a corn maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, a jumping pillow, and a petting zoo. There’s also a winery and gift barn.

Location: 3142 4 Mile Road NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.

Good to know: Property admission is free; food and activities are purchased separately. Attractions run on different schedules, and the website lists fall u-pick on weekends. Check the activity you want before choosing a day.

Where should you start?

Start with Crane’s if you want the place locals mentioned most often. Pair the orchard with a stop at the Pie Pantry for donuts or pie.

Try Farmhaus Farms for a bakery-and-orchard outing, or Overhiser if farm animals and a play area belong on your family’s fall list.

Make a day trip of Jollay or Robinette’s when you want to explore beyond the immediate Holland area.

Before you head out, check the official website for current hours, fruit availability, weather updates, and activity tickets. Fall schedules change, and a weekday bakery stop can look very different from a weekend orchard visit.
