Hey Holland! We're deep into summer now, and this week is bringing something for everyone — a bona fide music legend just up the road, a great tribute band, a whole day dedicated to dogs, and a storytelling night that'll have you laughing and maybe tearing up a little.

Bonnie Raitt plays Grand Rapids Wednesday. Huey Lewis tribute rocks Park Theatre Saturday. Dogs take over Windmill Island Gardens for Bark in the Park. Farmers market, live music, and trivia all week — same as always, still worth it.

🎸 Bonnie Raitt Live — Wednesday, Aug. 19, 7:30 p.m. @ DeVos Performance Hall, Grand Rapids. Not technically in Holland, but a short drive for a legendary night. The blues-rock-pop icon behind decades of hits brings her guitar and that unmistakable voice to Grand Rapids. If you've been waiting for an excuse for a date night, this is it. 👉 Tickets & info

🕺 Power of Love: A Huey Lewis Tribute — Saturday, Aug. 22, 8–10 p.m. @ Park Theatre. "The Power of Love," "Hip to Be Square," "Back in Time" — this tribute band brings the full heart-of-rock-and-roll experience to the Park Theatre stage. $20+. 👉 More info

🎙️ Story Spark: It's Break Time — Sunday, Aug. 23, 4:30–6:30 p.m. @ Park Theatre. An open-mic storytelling night, Moth-style — real people telling real, short, true stories. This month's theme: "It's Break Time." Come to listen, or work up the nerve to take the mic yourself. $15+. 👉 More info

🦋 Butterfly Bonanza — Saturday, Aug. 22, 10:30–11:30 a.m. @ Bysterveld Park, Wayland. Learn how to net, catch, and identify butterflies like an amateur lepidopterist for the morning. Great for curious kids (ages 5+) and the adults who never grew out of catching bugs. 👉 Details here

De Tuin Klas: Patch to Pantry — Thursday, Aug. 20, 6–7:30 p.m. @ Windmill Island Gardens. Learn to can and preserve your garden harvest so summer produce lasts all year. $15. 👉 More info

Incredible Insects — Thursday, Aug. 20, 10–11 a.m. @ Outdoor Discovery Center's De Witt Birds of Prey Center. Watch a naturalist feed the resident raptors and learn what's on the menu. Free, all ages, no registration needed. 👉 More info

Knee-high Naturalists — Friday, Aug. 21, 10 a.m.–noon @ Outdoor Discovery Center. Hands-on nature learning for the preschool set — crafts, live animals, and outdoor exploration. Ages 3–6, $10/child ($5 for members), registration required. 👉 Register here

Birding Hike at Stu Visser Trails — Saturday, Aug. 22, 9:30–11:30 a.m. All experience levels welcome, binoculars provided, free. Good pairing with Butterfly Bonanza the same morning if a family wants to make a whole outdoor day of it. 👉 Register here

"Once" — Runs nightly this week (Tues–Sat 7:30 p.m., Sun 2 p.m.) @ Saugatuck Center for the Arts. The Tony Award-winning musical continues its run — last chance is coming soon, so don't keep putting it off. 👉 Tickets here

Landverhuizers: Dutch Migration — Thursday, Aug. 20, 7–9 p.m. A free documentary screening tracing the story of Dutch immigrants who built new lives across North and South America — a fitting watch for a town built on that very history. 👉 More info
